This post represents an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and talented individual to join a team of staff in Keele University’s Information and Digital Services (IDS) Directorate. The Directorate is responsible for the University’s IT, digital and Library services and is a lead partner in the development and digital transformation of Keele University. The Application Developer role sits within the Applications and Digital Solutions (ADS) team who are responsible for the implementation and management of a wide range of student and staff facing systems that include, the Virtual Learning Environment, Lecture Recording Solution, Student Records System, Finance Systems and HR System to name but a few. This is an exciting time to join the team whose active projects include the implementation of a University wide Chatbot solution, adoption of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software and many more initiatives that aim to transform the impact of digital solutions for both students and staff.
This is principally a technical role and the successful candidate will be required to work on a wide range of aspects of application development and implementation including coding, system integration and configuration of software solutions. Opportunities will, however, exist for involvement in requirements capture and liaison with key stakeholders. As the successful candidate you will be educated to degree level or hold an equivalent qualification in IT or an IT related area. You will have experience of the technical aspects of the development lifecycle including use of modern development tools and methodologies and will be familiar with the use of relational databases. In addition, you will have excellent communication skills with strong problem-solving ability. Able to manage your time effectively, working effectively both in a team environment as well as working on own initiative
