It is an exciting time to join the School of Psychology at Keele University. We recently climbed into the Global Top 150 in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Keele Psychology has developed a vibrant and inclusive environment which embraces research approaches from across basic and applied psychological science. Since REF2014, we have significantly enhanced our reputation as a world-leading centre for cognitive, social, health, and developmental psychology. This post presents an ideal opportunity for the successful candidate to integrate into a team cementing their position as a centre for excellent research.
We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Psychology to strengthen our position as a School dedicated to research and teaching excellence. We particularly welcome applications from those with strengths in qualitative research methodologies working in areas related to health, developmental or social psychology who can complement and extend our existing areas of research. Quantitative and mixed-methods researchers in these areas will also be considered.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Psychology, will have a clear plan for developing their programme of research, evidenced by successful independent research activity including publications in peer-reviewed journals and potential for securing external research funding. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to the principles of open science. In addition to pursuing excellence in research, the successful candidates will also be
expected to contribute to teaching on our Undergraduate (accredited by the British
Psychological Society) and Postgraduate courses. The successful candidate will be
supported to undertake a PGDip in Higher Education Practice to obtain Fellowship of the
Higher Education Academy (unless candidate holds an equivalent qualification).
